Two Functional Wheel Mechanism Capable of Step Ascending for Personal Mobility Aids

چکیده

Obstacles such as ramps, steps, and irregular floor surfaces are commonly encountered in homes, offices, other public spaces. These obstacles frequently limit the daily activities of people who use mobility aids. For this purpose, study solves a slope minimization problem for personal As solution approach, gradient-reduction scheme is proposed, which allows existing aids to reduce required horizontal forces vibrations when ascending steps while maintaining their wheel sizes. Practically, an axle-transitional mechanism realizing computation model established, its step-ascending prototype developed. Specifically, since proposed enables integration into mobility-assisting devices, two functional roles, rolling step ascending, can be used. The developed step-climbing help users mitigate aforementioned limitations. physical mental burdens caregivers medical staff also reduced by making more self-sufficient. This provides details on prototype. findings analyzed mathematically, functionality verified through extensive experiments using

Evidence for a two-step mechanism involved in assembly of functional signal recognition particle receptor

The signal recognition particle (SRP) and SRP receptor act sequentially to target nascent secretory proteins to the membrane of the ER. The SRP receptor consists of two subunits, SR alpha and SR beta, both tightly associated with the ER membrane. To examine the biogenesis of the SRP receptor we have developed a cell-free assay system that reconstitutes SR alpha membrane assembly and permits bot...

On Kinematic Mechanism of a Two-Wheel Skateboard: The Essboard

In this paper, we investigate the kinematic mechanism and path planning of a two-caster nonholonomic vehicle (the Essboard) which is a recent variant of skateboards. Different from the most studied Snakeboard, the Essboard consists of a torsion bar and two platforms, each of which contains a pedal and a caster. We study the relationship between the tilt angle of the pedal and the wheel directio...

Mobility Modeling for Personal Networks

A Personal Network (PN) is a user-centric design interconnecting numerous devices belonging to a user in different geographic locations, such as home, office, car, etc., to form a single global network to offer fully personalized services. In PNs devices of the user move in different groups, where these groups merge and split. In this paper, we design and simulate a PN Mobility Model (PNMM) to ...

Agent Support for Personal Mobility

T he advent of mobile telecommunication systems has brought the term user mobility to next-generation telecommunication network research and design. User mobility implies two things: terminal mobility—the ability of the network to locate a mobile terminal—and personal mobility— the ability of users to access defined services from any terminal in the network, while maintaining their personal env...
